Carrier Tape

Jiushuo manufactures embossed and custom carrier tape for SMT and electronic component packaging. Our carrier tapes are designed to hold, protect, and position electronic components during storage, transportation, and automated pick-and-place assembly.

Available carrier tape widths range from 8 mm to 120 mm, with material thicknesses typically ranging from 0.25 mm to 1.0 mm. Pocket depth (K0) can reach up to 40 mm, depending on the material and design requirements.

We support custom pocket dimensions, tape pitch, material selection, and ESD protection options to accommodate different electronic components. Customers can provide component drawings, required dimensions, and packaging specifications for custom carrier tape design and manufacturing.

Embossed Carrier Tape

Embossed carrier tape is mainly used in the electronic component mounting industry.  It is used in conjunction with a cover tape (upper seal tape) to store the components in the pocket of the carrier tape, and forms a closed packaging by sealing the cover tape above the carrier tape, preventing physical and static damage, while also protecting the components from contamination and damage during transportation.  When electronic components are mounted on a chip, the cover tape strip is peeled off.  The automatic mounting device accurately locates the components in the pocket through the index hole of the carrier strip, and then installs the chip on the integrated circuit board .
he embossed carrier tape material is mainly composed of plastic materials, with the mainstream in the market being PS(Polystyrene) and PC (Polycarbonate)ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer resin), in addition to a small amount of PET, APET and other materials made of carrier tapes.
All products comply with EIA-481-D and ROHS standards, and non-standard embossed carrier tapes can also be customized.
